Now, the Kaolin
mix is poured into the cast. The Limoges porcelain industry was created
because Kaolin was found in Limoges. Kaolin is the main ingredient
in the mix for fine porcelain manufacturing. When it's hard enough,
the cast is opened and the newly made piece is put in a dryer until
it's fully dry.
As soon
as it is dry, the piece is cleaned up with a sponge and the side
seam is erased using a special scrubbing tool. Then the piece is
put in the oven at 1000 degrees Celsius. After baking the piece
is hard and dry and is dusted again.
Now it's time
for the glazing process. Each piece receives a base glaze before being
painted. The piece is put in a glazing mixture composed of Silica
and water. Silica transforms into glass in extreme temperatures. So
that pieces do not stick to the oven plates during the final baking,
the glaze under the base of the piece is rubbed away
